Graceful, arching and pendulous racemes of violet-purple flowers just keep coming and growing. Introduced into the US in the 1800s, Lindley Butterfly Bush is a large shrub or small tree with showy, long-lasting lavender flowers that attract pollinators. Its form is rounded with arching weeping branches and a medium to fine texture.  It is more dense and compact than Buddleja davidii.  Once established it is quite drought tolerant but benefits from a 2"-3" layer of mulch each year.  This plant is seldom damaged by deer.
