An esteemed heirloom variety from the early 1900s. Tender, tasty spears from early, productive plants. This variety exhibits good cold hardiness and rust resistance. Will overwinter to zone 3. Fresh asparagus tastes better straight from the garden because it retains its peak flavor, texture, and nutritional content. Asparagus begins to lose its natural sugars and moisture shortly after being harvested. Freshly picked asparagus hasn't had time to oxidize, which can cause a loss of flavor and nutrients. The sooner you eat it, the less oxidation occurs. Asparagus crowns are divided 5++ year old.

Sometimes grower's patience plays a role in it. Start plants from seeds are not suitable for everyone, please consider this before you place the order. 
7. For Bare Root Plant Order - "Bare-Root" Plants contain roots, wrapped with moist material and recycled packaging. Might be trimmed to fit in the shipping box.
8. For Cutting Orders - They are easily started from cuttings. But please note that not every body can start plants from cuttings.
9. Starter plants may appear leggy as fall progresses, depending on when they were ordered and shipped. This is often due to reduced sunlight and the plant's shift in energy after blooming. Instead of focusing on producing more foliage, the plant directs its energy toward growing longer stems and developing seeds. While the plant may look leggy, this is a natural process and not a sign of being unhealthy.
