Houttuynia cordata
Fish Mint is a herbaceous hardy perennial plant that can grow to 3ft in height and 3ft into circumfrence. Though not an actual mint, the herb is given this name because it roots easily like mint and has a strong fish aroma in the leaves. It is often used in Vietnamese Cuisine and with grilled meats. Its also used in traditional Chinese Medicine. The plant likes wetter soil and can become weedy. Hardy to Zone 5 and the plant can also handle some shade.
