Seed germination is controlled by environmental factors such as light, moisture, temperature and time of seed dry storage as well as by genetic factors. Sometimes grower's patience plays a role in it. So is grower's diligence to fight with the garden critters. We are bee keepers, the blossoms are bee-kissed at some point of time, cross pollinated is possible.  We have volunteering seedlings pop out everywhere outdoor in the right time in Northern California so we know the seeds are very fertile.
